Endometrial biopsy is done for women with abnormal uterine bleedind or Post menopausal bleeding to rule out endometrial pathology.
Pap smear is a screening test for cervical cancer. It can identify abnormal cells that can transform into malignancy in later years. If identified they can be treated effectively to avoid malignancy in later years. It is recommended that women of reproductive age group to undergo pap smear test at least once in 3 yrs and more frequent if needed.
Mirena is a hormone loaded intra uterine device used for women with abnormal uterine bleeding. It is used for contraception also.
